Overview

The Riot Power Bar in Calibrated Nickel pairs full IPF-legal competition accuracy with a classic nickel finish that's been trusted on competition platforms for decades. A full nickel shaft and sleeves deliver a smooth, durable surface with excellent corrosion resistance, while ±50g calibration keeps every competition total exact. Like every bar in the Riot range, it was designed in-house, including the sword-and-torch-inspired sleeve collar that marks it out as a Riot bar.

Calibrated Nickel Steel Power Bar With 29 mm Shaft

The slim sleeve collar is part of Riot's in-house design language. Its angled, faceted profile resembles an Olympic torch from one side and a blade from the other. On the power bars, the sleeve collar is deliberately kept narrower than on any other bar in the range. The weightlifting, hybrid, squat and deadlift bars use wider versions, each scaled to the proportions of the bar.

The shaft and sleeves are nickel-plated. Nickel is a long-established competition finish and one of the few coatings included on the IPF's approved equipment list. It forms a slightly thicker and softer layer than black chrome, which gently rounds the sharpest edges of the knurling. The grip therefore feels slightly smoother than on the black chrome or stainless steel versions while remaining secure under heavy loads. The finish also provides strong corrosion resistance and is less demanding on the hands during higher-rep training.

Graphite-infused bronze bushings control the rotation of the sleeves. Each bushing is made from solid bronze with graphite particles embedded directly into the material. These particles provide permanent, built-in lubrication for the working life of the bar and cannot dry out. Bushings rotate more slowly and with greater resistance than needle bearings. This gives the sleeves a calmer, more controlled spin and reduces unnecessary plate rotation during squats and bench press, where excessive sleeve speed can work against a stable setup.

The 29 mm shaft gives the bar the stiffness expected from a power bar while retaining a small amount of flex under load. It stays stable and predictable during heavy squats and bench press without feeling completely rigid in the hands. Within the Riot range, it sits between the pronounced whip of the Deadlift Bar and the near-zero flex of the Squat Bar.

Sleeve Collar And Clear Bar Identification

Every Riot bar uses the same identification system. The bar name, weight and shaft diameter are laser-engraved on the inside face of the sleeve collar, keeping the specifications legible throughout the working life of the bar, whether it is stored hanging, stacked or racked with the sleeve collar facing forwards. The end cap repeats the key information at a glance. It is colour-coded by weight, blue for this 20 kg bar, with the weight printed directly on the cap, making it easy for anyone on the gym floor to identify the correct bar for the relevant sport without checking a separate label.
